DVD ripping software for linux -
After not being able to find any good DVD ripping software for linux a while ago, I discovered acidrip http://acidrip.sf.net today.
After running "apt-get install acidrip" in ubuntu, I was ready to go.
It's brilliant! It can encode all your dvds to mpeg4, Divx, or Xvid (and a variety of other formats, it can autmatically detect black bands at the top and bottom of the screen and crop accordingly, and if you specify a filesize, it will determine the bitrate to match.
Now I can take all my family guy, futurama, and mythbusters episodes with me on my notebook.
